Debris (twigs, hair, leaves) can wrap around the <strong>motor blades or transmission gears<\/strong> where they&#8217;re not visible from the outside. You do <strong>not<\/strong> need to fully disassemble the unit \u2014 start with the water spray test and manual roller rotation check below.<\/p>\n    <\/div>        <div class=\"section-card\">\n            <div class=\"section-icon icon-steps\"><\/div>\n            <h2>Step 1: Water spray test<\/h2>\n            <p>Lift the robot to the pool surface while it&#8217;s running. Observe the water spray from the top outlet. <strong>The spray should reach at least 0.3 m (12 inches)<\/strong> above the water. Manually turn each roller brush. <strong>There should be some resistance<\/strong> \u2014 if a roller spins freely with zero resistance, the walking\/drive motor or transmission gear on that side may be stripped or disconnected. Turn off the machine, manually rotate the propeller, then run it for 30 minutes. This dissolves the salt crystals. For Surfer\/EcoSurfer models: submerge the machine in fresh water for 30 minutes if the impeller twitches but doesn&#8217;t spin.<\/p>\n        <\/div>        <div class=\"section-card\">\n            <div class=\"section-icon icon-fix\"><\/div>\n            <h2>Surfer-specific: impeller not spinning<\/h2>\n            <p>For the Surfer S1\/M1\/S2 series: the front impeller can get tangled with hair or fine debris.
