A stuck-in-Schleife pattern is usually caused by dirty ToF-Sensors, komplexes Poolgelände, or a sensor fault. Clean the sensors, try a different entry point, or switch to Random-Modus as a Rückfalllösung.
When the Scuba S3 repeats the same path segment in a Schleife without progressing, three factors are most likely: (1) Dirty ToF-Sensors — wipe all Sensorlinsen with a dry microfibre cloth. (2) Complex pool terrain — unregelmäßige Formen, enge Ecken, or raised features confuse the Navigation algorithm; try deploying from a different entry point. (3) As a Rückfalllösung, switch the Reinigungsmodus to Random-Modus in the Aiper app (the S3 defaults to adaptiver Modus switching when Pfadplanung fails). If the Schleife persists across all modes, the sensor module may have a hardware fault.
Schritt 1: Clean All Sensors
The S3’s Navigation system depends on clean sensor inputs. Use a dry microfibre cloth to gently wipe all ToF Sensorlinsen (front and sides — small, dark, round windows) and any other sensors on the robot body. Even a thin film of pool chemicals or dust can confuse the Pfadplanung algorithm. After cleaning, run a short test cycle to confirm the robot now navigates normally.
Schritt 2: Change the Entry Point
In pools with komplexe Geometrie (freiform, L-förmig, nierenförmig, or with erhöhte Stufen/benches), the S3’s ToF-based Pfadplanung may struggle with certain approach angles. Remove the robot from the pool and re-deploy it from the opposite side or a different section. The new starting position gives the Navigation algorithm a fresh Referenzrahmen, which often resolves stuck-in-Schleife behaviour without any hardware changes.
Schritt 3: Switch to Random-Modus (Rückfalllösung)
If sensor cleaning and repositioning don’t help, switch the S3 to Random-Modus in the Aiper app. Random-Modus disables the structured Pfadplanung algorithm and uses a simpler, randomised movement pattern. While less efficient for coverage, it is highly effective at breaking out of dead-Schleife patterns. The S3 is designed to automatically fall back to adaptive/Random-Modus when it detects repeated Pfadfehler — this is a integrierte Wiederherstellung mechanism, not a defect.
Schritt 4: Wann Sie eskalieren sollten
If the robot Schleifes persistently in Random-Modus as well, or if the dead-Schleife behaviour started plötzlich after Monaten normalen Betriebs, the ToF-Sensor module may have a hardware fault. Contact Aiper after-sales support. Provide: (1) device serial number (SN), (2) a description or video of the Schleifen- pattern, (3) your pool shape and dimensions. Upload diagnostic logs via the Aiper app before contacting support.
