Power off the robot. Flip upside down. Locate the rear wheel housings and use a soft pick or toothpick to remove stones, leaf stems, or compacted debris from around the axle. Rotate each wheel manually to confirm free movement.

Aiper app → Scuba S1 → Settings → Navigation → Obstacle Avoidance → toggle On. This activates the ultrasonic proximity sensor to detect and navigate around obstructions proactively.

Fix: (1) In the Aiper app, go to Scuba S1 → Pool Map → Exclusion Zones and draw a zone around the ladder area. (2) If your ladder has removable bumpers, ensure they are installed — they reduce the gap width. (3) For above-ground pools with A-frame ladders, consider adding a pool ladder mat or guard barrier to physically block the gap. (4) As a temporary fix, lower the water level by 2–3 inches — the S1’s buoyancy changes and it may avoid the ladder gap at a slightly different water depth.

(4) Update firmware to the latest version via the Aiper app — newer firmware includes improved wall-climbing logic.
