A stuck S1 is usually caused by debris lodged in the rear drive wheel or a tangle in the brush roll.
A stuck S1 is usually caused by debris lodged in the rear drive wheel or a tangle in the brush roll. Remove from the pool, clear the obstruction, and redeploy. Enable Obstacle Avoidance in the app settings to reduce recurrence.
Drive wheel debris removal
Power off the robot. Flip upside down. Locate the rear wheel housings and use a soft pick or toothpick to remove stones, leaf stems, or compacted debris from around the axle. Rotate each wheel manually to confirm free movement.
How to enable Obstacle Avoidance
Aiper app → Scuba S1 → Settings → Navigation → Obstacle Avoidance → toggle On. This activates the ultrasonic proximity sensor to detect and navigate around obstructions proactively.
Setting up exclusion zones
In the app → Scuba S1 → Pool Map → Exclusion Zones. Draw a zone over the problem area (steps, shallow end, fountain). The robot will avoid that region during all future scheduled cycles.
