How to Open and Remove the Aiper Scuba Filter Basket
Step-by-step instructions for removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the filter basket on all Aiper Scuba series pool cleaners. Works for Scuba S1, V3, N1, SE, and X1 models.
Step 1: Remove the Robot from the Pool
Lift the robot out of the water and place it on a flat, dry surface. Turn off the power using the main switch.
Step 2: Open the Top Shell
Locate the release latch on the top handle. Press the latch firmly and lift the upper shell upward. The shell will hinge open, revealing the filter basket inside.
Step 3: Remove the Filter Basket
Grip the filter basket by its handle and pull it straight up and out of the robot body. Be careful not to spill collected debris.
Step 4: Rinse the Filter Basket
- Rinse the filter basket with a garden hose or under a tap
- Use medium water pressure — avoid high-pressure washers which can damage the mesh
- For the 3-micron micromesh filter (S1 models), gently wipe with a soft cloth
- Allow the basket to air dry completely before reinstalling
Step 5: Reinstall the Filter Basket
Slide the dry filter basket back into the robot, ensuring it seats flush against the bottom. Close the top shell until you hear the latch click into place.
How Often Should You Clean the Filter Basket?
For most pool owners, cleaning the filter basket after every 2–3 cleaning cycles is sufficient. If your pool has heavy leaf debris, algae, or sand, clean it after every cycle to prevent clogging and maintain suction power.
What If the Filter Basket Is Damaged?
Replacement filter baskets for Scuba series robots can be ordered through the Aiper Parts & Accessories store. Always use genuine Aiper replacement parts — third-party filters may not seal properly and can reduce cleaning performance.
