In the 2025 firmware update, Eco Mode was removed and replaced by a Schedule feature. If your app shows “firmware update needed” when setting a schedule, restart the robot + app and retry — this is a known false-positive bug.
Eco Mode Is Gone — What Replaced It
The 2025 Scuba N1 firmware removed the “Eco Mode” option from the app. It was replaced by the Schedule feature, which lets you set a specific time and duration for automatic cleaning. The outcome is the same — timed, automatic cleaning cycles — but the interface moved from a toggle to a calendar-based schedule.
“Firmware Update Needed” False Positive
When setting a schedule, some N1 units show a “firmware update needed” message even when firmware is current. This is a known app bug. Fix: (1) Force-quit the Aiper app. (2) Power off the N1, then power on. (3) Re-open the app, confirm the N1 shows as online. (4) Navigate to Schedule — the error should be gone. If it persists, check Settings → Firmware to verify the version matches latest.
Setting a Cleaning Schedule
In the Aiper app: select your N1 → tap Schedule → set days and start time. The N1 must be charged, connected to Wi-Fi, and not on the charger when the schedule fires. Tip: place the fully charged N1 in the pool the evening before a morning schedule so it’s ready to start immediately.
Schedule Wiped After Firmware Update
Firmware updates occasionally reset saved schedules. After any firmware update, check your schedule settings in the app and re-enter if needed. This is a known limitation of the current firmware update process.
