The Surfer S2 supports scheduled automatic cleaning via the Aiper app.
The Surfer S2 supports scheduled automatic cleaning via the Aiper app. You can set daily start and end times (e.g. 5 am–9 am). The device must be on the water and connected to Wi-Fi when the schedule triggers.
Setting a Daily Schedule
In the Aiper app, select your Surfer S2, then tap Schedule. Set your preferred days, start time, and end time. The skimmer will automatically start when the schedule triggers, then stop and park at the end of the window. Ensure the device is floating on the water and the app shows it as online before the scheduled start time.
Schedule Doesn’t Start
Common causes: (1) Device was offline when the schedule triggered — ensure the Surfer S2 has a Wi-Fi connection. (2) Device was not on the water — the skimmer must be floating in the pool. (3) App firmware update wiped the schedule — re-enter after any firmware update. (4) Schedule shows “firmware update needed” error — restart device + app, then re-set the schedule.
How Long Should a Cleaning Session Run?
For a standard pool (up to 1,200 sq ft / ~110 m²), a 2–4 hour session is typically sufficient for surface debris removal. In high-pollen seasons or after storms, run a second cycle the same day. The Surfer S2 can run continuously for the duration of its battery charge; a scheduled session ending before battery depletion is recommended for consistency.
Saving Battery: Use Eco Mode When Available
Older firmware offered an Eco Mode; the 2025 firmware replaced this with the Schedule feature. If your app shows Eco Mode, it is an older firmware version. Updating to the latest firmware migrates to the Schedule interface. Both achieve the same timed cleaning result.
