The Surfer S2 supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.
The Surfer S2 supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. Common fix: check your router is broadcasting 2.4 GHz, ensure Bluetooth is on during pairing, and complete setup within the 5-minute connection window. Wi-Fi reset: hold power button 10 seconds.
2.4 GHz Only — 5 GHz Will Not Work
The Surfer S2 cannot connect to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. “Incorrect password” errors are almost always caused by accidentally selecting a 5 GHz network. In your router settings, enable and use the 2.4 GHz band. If your router broadcasts both bands under one SSID (band steering), split them into two separate SSIDs and connect to the 2.4 GHz one.
Step-by-Step Pairing
1. Fully charge the Surfer S2. 2. Power on — Wi-Fi indicator flashes (setup mode active). 3. Open Aiper app → tap + → select Surfer S2. 4. Enable Bluetooth on your phone. 5. Select your 2.4 GHz network and enter the password. 6. Keep device within 1–2 m of your phone. 7. Wait for LED to turn solid green (connection confirmed). Must complete within 5 minutes of powering on.
Re-Activate Wi-Fi Setup Mode
If the 5-minute window expired before pairing: hold power button 5 seconds to re-enter Wi-Fi setup mode. If credentials are wrong: hold power button 10 seconds to clear all Wi-Fi settings and re-do the full pairing.
Multi-Account Access (Shared Control)
The Aiper app supports sharing device access with family members. The device owner can add a second account as a shared user in the app settings. Both users can view status and send commands. Only the primary account owner can change Wi-Fi credentials or delete the device.
