The Surfer S1 is a solar-assisted surface skimmer — it charges both via the included wall charger and via its built-in solar panel. Always complete the first charge using the wall charger, then test solar charging in direct sunlight on the water.
What the Surfer S1 Does
The Surfer S1 floats on the pool surface and collects leaves, insects, pollen, and surface debris. It does not clean the pool floor or walls. The S1 includes a solar panel on top that continuously charges the battery when exposed to sunlight — extending run time beyond what the wall charge alone provides.
First Charge: Always Use the Wall Charger
On first use, charge the Surfer S1 fully using the included wall charger. Do not rely on solar charging for the initial charge — the battery needs a full wall-charge cycle first to calibrate the battery management system. The LED turns green when fully charged.
Adding to the Aiper App
Open the Aiper app, tap + and select Surfer S1. Enable Bluetooth on your phone. Connect to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network within 5 minutes of powering on the device. Once connected, you can set schedules, monitor skimming status, and receive completion alerts.
Auto Mode: No App Required
The Surfer S1 can operate without the app in Auto mode. Press the power button to turn it on and place it on the water — it begins skimming immediately. Use the app only when you need scheduling, remote control, or status monitoring.
