A fully charged Scuba V3 takes 5 hours to charge and delivers 180 minutes (3 hours) of cleaning time
A fully charged Scuba V3 takes 5 hours to charge and delivers 180 minutes (3 hours) of cleaning time. The battery is covered under the V3’s 2-year warranty. If your runtime drops below 40–50 minutes consistently, the battery qualifies for a warranty replacement — contact Aiper support with your serial number.
Official Battery Specs: Charge vs. Runtime
Charge time: 5 hours (using the included charger). Cleaning runtime: approximately 180 minutes (3 hours) per full charge. The robot automatically returns to the waterline and parks when the battery is depleted. Avoid partial charges — completing a full charge cycle before use maximizes battery longevity.
Why Your V3 Seems to Run Shorter Than 3 Hours
Battery runtime depends on pool size, cleaning mode, and water temperature. Wall+Floor mode uses more power than Floor mode alone. Cold water (below 15°C) can reduce effective runtime by 15–20%. Heavily debris-laden pools also increase motor load. If your unit regularly stops in under 90 minutes on a full charge, this may indicate a battery issue.
Battery Warranty: When to Claim
Aiper’s support agents use a threshold of 40–50 minutes of runtime as the indicator of a defective battery within the warranty period. If your V3 consistently runs for less than 50 minutes on a full 5-hour charge, contact support with: serial number, purchase date, and a description of observed runtime. The 2-year warranty covers battery replacement or unit replacement.
Extending Battery Life: Best Practices
1. Always charge to 100% before use. 2. Store the robot indoors at room temperature when not in use for extended periods (1+ month). 3. Do not leave on the charger indefinitely after reaching full charge. 4. Rinse the charging contacts with fresh water and dry before charging, especially in saltwater pools. 5. If storing over winter, discharge to approximately 60% before storage to prevent capacity loss.
Can You Replace the Battery Yourself?
The Scuba V3 battery is an internal sealed unit and is not designed for user replacement. Aiper does not sell the battery as a standalone part for self-service. Battery replacement is handled by the Aiper service team through the warranty or repair process. Contact support at aiper.com/us/process-a-warranty to initiate a service ticket.
