The V3’s LED night indicator requires the ambient light sensor to read below 50 lux. Confirm your schedule starts after local sunset and firmware is at v2.4 or later. Test: cover the sensor with a finger while the app is open — the light mode should activate immediately.
What the night light actually does
The Scuba V3’s LED night indicator illuminates the robot during after-dark cleaning cycles so it is visible in the pool. It does not project light to aid navigation — the gyroscope handles navigation regardless of ambient light.
Schedule configuration for night cleaning
In the Aiper app → Scuba V3 → Schedule → set start time to at least 30 minutes after local sunset. The app uses the phone’s system timezone — confirm this matches your pool’s location.
Sensor obstruction check
If the sensor test (finger-cover) fails to activate night mode, inspect the sensor window for debris, sunscreen residue, or a protective film that was not removed. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth.
