HydroComm lets you monitor and control the X1 Pro / Pro Max while it is submerged.
HydroComm lets you monitor and control the X1 Pro / Pro Max while it is submerged. Pairing requires both the robot and HydroComm unit to be added to the same Aiper account and connected to the same 2.4 GHz network. If the robot can see HydroComm but HydroComm cannot see the robot, try re-pairing in the app after power cycling both devices.
What HydroComm Does
HydroComm uses an acoustic signal to maintain communication between the robot and a floating transducer at the pool surface. This allows the Aiper app to display live cleaning status, receive real-time error alerts, and send stop/direction commands even when the X1 is fully submerged. Without HydroComm, the X1 Pro/Pro Max disconnects from the app once underwater (same as V3 and S1).
Pairing HydroComm to the X1 Pro / Pro Max
1. Add both the X1 Pro/Pro Max and the HydroComm to the same Aiper account. 2. Ensure both are connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. 3. In the Aiper app, go to the X1 device settings and select “Link HydroComm.” 4. Follow the in-app pairing instructions. Both devices must have the latest firmware.
Robot Sees HydroComm But HydroComm Doesn’t See Robot
This is the most common HydroComm pairing issue. Fix: (1) Power off both the robot and HydroComm unit. (2) Power on HydroComm first, wait 30 seconds. (3) Power on the robot and immediately start the pairing process in the app. If the issue persists after two attempts, remove both devices from the Aiper app, factory reset the robot (hold power 10 seconds), and re-pair from scratch.
