Turn on the Scuba X1 and allow the 30-second initialization process to complete before placing it in the pool. If the app shows sensor errors (ultrasonic, dToF, infrared, or geomagnetic), restart the robot and let initialization finish again. Do not place it in water until the LED shows solid green.
Power On & Initialization
Press and hold the power button until the LED turns on. The robot performs a self-check of its four sensors (ultrasonic, dToF, infrared, geomagnetic). This takes approximately 30 seconds. If the app shows an abnormality for any sensor, turn the robot off and on again and wait for a clean initialization before proceeding.
Adding to the Aiper App
Open the Aiper app, tap + and select your X1 model. Enable Bluetooth on your phone — it is required for the initial pairing. Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi SSID and password. The robot must connect within 5 minutes of powering on; if the Wi-Fi window expires, power cycle the robot and try again.
Selecting Your Cleaning Mode
X1 base: Floor mode only. X1 Pro: Floor mode + Wall mode. X1 Pro Max: Floor + Wall + Waterline mode, plus adaptive multi-sensor navigation. For irregular or kidney-shaped pools, use Auto mode (X1 Pro Max). For rectangular pools, Floor mode or Wall+Floor mode gives thorough coverage.
First Pool Run — What to Expect
Place the robot at the shallow end. It will submerge and begin mapping the pool during the first run. The app will go offline once the robot is underwater — this is normal. The X1 Pro and Pro Max reconnect at the waterline upon completion. X1 base will park at the waterline and can be retrieved with the included hook.
