Scuba S3 Won’t Turn On — Diagnosis & Fix
The most common causes are a depleted battery or temperature protection. Charge fully and ensure the robot is within the 10–40 °C (50–104 °F) operating range.
The Scuba S3 won’t power on for two main reasons: (1) Battery depleted — connect the charger and wait for the LED indicator. If the battery is completely drained, it may take several minutes before any LED activity appears. Charge the robot fully. (2) Temperature protection engaged — the S3’s battery management system blocks power-on when the internal temperature is below 10 °C (50 °F) or above 40 °C (104 °F). Move the robot to a room-temperature environment and wait before retrying.
Step 1: Charge the Battery
Connect the original Aiper charger to the robot’s charging port. If the LED indicator does not light up immediately, leave the charger connected — a deeply discharged battery may need the LED shows any activity. Do not use third-party chargers; they may not provide the correct voltage and could damage the battery management system.
Step 2: Check Temperature Conditions
The S3’s lithium battery has a built-in protection circuit that prevents operation outside the safe range of 10–40 °C (50–104 °F). If the robot has been sitting in direct sunlight on a hot pool deck (above 40 °C) or left in an unheated garage in winter (below 10 °C), the protection circuit will block power-on. Move the robot indoors to a shaded, room-temperature area and allow it to acclimatise before attempting to power on.
Step 3: When Neither Fix Works
If the battery has been fully charged, the temperature is within range, and the robot still will not turn on, the issue may be a hardware fault in the power button, battery, or main control board. Contact Aiper after-sales support with your device serial number (SN) and a description of when the issue started. Do not attempt to open the robot or replace the battery yourself — this voids the warranty.
