Schedule not working is the most reported issue for the Surfer S1.
Schedule not working is the most reported issue for the Surfer S1. Common causes: firmware update fails (cannot update in charging/standby state), or schedule was wiped after a firmware update. If all troubleshooting fails, CS escalates to a ticket.
Firmware Cannot Update in Charging or Standby
This is the most common reason firmware updates fail on the Surfer S1. Requirements for a successful update: (1) Device must be powered ON (not in standby or sleep). (2) Device must NOT be connected to the charger. (3) Wi-Fi connection must be stable. Start the update from the Aiper app with the device fully charged, disconnected from the charger, and the app open in the foreground.
Schedule Not Working After Firmware Update
Firmware updates wipe saved schedules. After any update, re-enter your schedule in the app. Navigate to Schedule, set your days and start time, and confirm. The device must be online (Wi-Fi connected) when the schedule fires.
“Firmware Update Needed” False Positive
If the schedule page shows a firmware update prompt but you are already on the latest version: (1) Force-quit the Aiper app. (2) Power off the S1 and power back on. (3) Reconnect to app. (4) Navigate to Schedule — the error should clear.
Escalation: When CS Submits a Ticket
If the schedule remains non-functional after: firmware updated, app reinstalled, robot factory reset, and schedule re-entered — CS agents escalate to a back-office technical ticket. This is expected for persistent schedule failures that survive all standard troubleshooting steps.
