Most X1 errors clear with a power cycle or factory reset.
Most X1 errors clear with a power cycle or factory reset. Factory reset: hold the power button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes — this clears all Wi-Fi credentials and schedules. Sensor errors shown in the app usually resolve after re-initialization.
Reading Error Codes in the Aiper App
The Aiper app displays error codes as E1–E5 with short descriptions. E1: Drive / motor issue — check for debris blocking the wheels; rinse and retry. E2: Filter / pump blockage — remove and clean the filter basket. E3: Sensor abnormality (ultrasonic, dToF, infrared, or geomagnetic) — restart and allow full re-initialization. E4: Battery or charging management error — see battery guide above. E5: Water ingress detected — remove from pool immediately, dry the unit, and contact support.
Power Cycle to Clear Transient Errors
For E1–E3 errors: turn the robot off, wait 15 seconds, then turn it back on. Allow the 30-second initialization to complete. Check the app for the sensor readout — if all sensors show normal, the error is cleared. Do not place the robot in the pool until the initialization shows clean.
Factory Reset Procedure
A factory reset clears all Wi-Fi credentials, saved schedules, and mapping data. To reset: hold the power button for 10 seconds. The LED will flash three times to confirm the reset. Release the button. The robot will restart in pairing mode. Re-add the robot to the Aiper app from scratch after a factory reset.
When to Contact Support
Contact Aiper support if: E5 (water ingress) appears and cannot be cleared after thorough drying; E3 sensor errors persist after multiple restarts; or the robot fails to complete initialization after a factory reset. Submit a ticket at aiper.com/us/process-a-warranty with your serial number, purchase date, and the specific error code.
