Scuba X1 Pro Max vs Scuba V3
The X1 Pro Max is Aiper’s all-in-one flagship with surface skimming, 9 motors, and 8,500 GPH suction. The V3 is the AI-vision specialist with dual cameras and Cognitive AI Navium™ — floor-only, lighter, and more affordable. Which one fits your pool?
Choose the X1 Pro Max if you want an all-in-one robot that cleans floors, walls, waterline, AND skims the surface — plus the longest runtime (5 hours) and strongest suction (8,500 GPH). Choose the Scuba V3 if you want AI-powered debris detection, a lightweight body (18.1 lbs), and value floor-only cleaning at a lower price point. The V3 cannot skim the surface; the X1 Pro Max cannot match the V3’s portability. Filter accessories are not cross-compatible between models.

When to Choose the Scuba V3
The V3 is the right pick if your pool has a flat bottom and you don’t need wall or surface cleaning. Its dual-camera AI navigation (VisionPath™ + Cognitive AI Navium™) identifies over 20 types of debris and adjusts cleaning patterns in real time — technology the X1 Pro Max does not have. At 18.1 lbs, the V3 is dramatically easier to lift out of the pool. It’s also half the price of the X1 Pro Max, making it the best value if floor-only cleaning meets your needs. The TÜV-certified privacy means zero image storage or upload — the cameras are navigation-only.
When to Choose the Scuba X1 Pro Max
The X1 Pro Max is Aiper’s most powerful robot. Its 9 brushless motors drive 8,500 GPH of suction — nearly double the V3’s power. It’s the only Aiper model that does all four jobs: floor, walls, waterline, AND surface skimming. If your pool collects floating leaves, pollen, or surface debris, the surface-skimming mode (up to 10 hours standalone) replaces a separate skimmer. The 5L filter basket handles heavy debris loads without frequent emptying. The 3-year warranty (vs 2 on the V3) and OTA firmware updates via the Aiper app provide longer-term protection. Optional HydroComm Pro adds real-time underwater remote control and water-quality testing.
Key Trade-offs to Consider
Weight: The X1 Pro Max weighs ~33 lbs dry (heavier when waterlogged). The V3 at 18.1 lbs is far easier for daily retrieval, especially for users with limited upper-body strength.
Surface vs AI: The X1 Pro Max has surface skimming but uses FlexiPath™ 2.0 sensor-based navigation. The V3 has no surface mode but uses dual-camera AI vision that actively recognises debris types. If your main problem is submerged debris, the V3’s AI may clean more intelligently. If your main problem is floating debris, only the X1 Pro Max can help.
Accessories: Filters, brushes, and charging docks are not interchangeable between the two models. Factor in the cost of replacement consumables when comparing total ownership cost.
V3 Owners Considering an Upgrade
If you already own a V3 and are considering the X1 Pro Max, the upgrade makes sense when: (1) you’ve added a pool cover and now get more surface debris, (2) your pool has walls with visible algae or scum lines the V3 can’t reach, or (3) your pool is larger than 2,000 sq ft and the V3 runs out of battery before finishing. The V3 cannot be hardware-upgraded to add wall-climbing or surface skimming — these require the X1 chassis.
