Check the filter basket first — a clogged basket is the most common cause.
Check the filter basket first — a clogged basket is the most common cause. If the basket comes out clean but debris “exits through the top jets”, this is a known N1 Pro defect on early units — contact Aiper support for a warranty replacement.
Filter Basket Check
Remove and inspect the basket: if it is full or the mesh is torn, clean or replace it. A partially blocked basket reduces suction dramatically. Rinse under a garden hose after every 2–3 sessions. Debris exiting through the top water jets is the clearest indicator the basket is full or not seated correctly.
Basket Clean But Still No Pickup
If the basket is clear and clean but the robot picks up nothing: (1) Check that the basket is fully clicked into place. (2) Restart the robot. (3) Check for obstructions in the intake port under the robot. (4) Run the robot in a clean test environment to verify suction. If suction is clearly absent (no pull when hand is held near intake), contact support — this is the N1 Pro suction path defect described below.
N1 Pro Early-Batch Suction Defect
N1 Pro units from early 2025 production had a manufacturing defect where the impeller path bypassed the basket entirely. Symptom: debris enters, basket remains clean, material exits the top jets. This cannot be fixed by cleaning or reset. Aiper CS agents escalated these cases to immediate warranty replacement. Contact support with serial number and describe the exact symptom.
Coverage Gaps — Areas Missed
The Scuba N1 uses a grid-pattern navigation for floor cleaning. For pools up to 430 sq ft / 40 m², one cycle typically covers the full floor. For larger pools, run two cycles. The N1 does not adapt to irregular pool shapes — for kidney-shaped or L-shaped pools, manually reposition the robot at the start of a second cycle to cover missed areas.
