The most common cause of a Wi-Fi error on the Scuba S1 is a 5 GHz network — the S1 only supports 2.4 GHz. The second most common cause: the 2024 model does not support app connectivity at all — only the 2025 version does. To fix: switch your router to 2.4 GHz and try again, or scan the QR code on the bottom of the unit as an alternative pairing method.
Why the S1 Says Incorrect Password
In most cases the robot is trying to connect to a 5 GHz band. The Scuba S1 is only compatible with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Go to your router settings and enable the 2.4 GHz band, then use that network name and password in the Aiper app. Some dual-band routers share one SSID — check if you can split them.
Scuba S1 2024 Has No App Support
If your serial number begins with an older prefix (pre-2025 manufacture), your unit is the 2024 version of the Scuba S1, which does not support Wi-Fi or app connectivity. It operates as a standalone robot without app control. Only the 2025 and later versions can connect to the Aiper app. You can verify your version by checking the serial number on the CS warranty page.
Alternative: Scan the QR Code
If typing the password keeps failing, open the Aiper app and tap the add device (+) button, then choose to scan the QR code printed on the bottom of the Scuba S1. This bypasses the manual password entry and often resolves the connection error.
Previously-Owned Unit Won’t Connect
If you bought a used Scuba S1, the previous owner’s account must unbind the device first. Hold the power button for 10 seconds to factory-reset the Wi-Fi module, then re-add it to the app. If the device remains bound to another account, contact Aiper support with the serial number to request a remote unbind.
Step-by-Step Connection Guide
1. Ensure S1 is charged and powered on. 2. Open Aiper app → tap + → select Scuba S1. 3. Enable Bluetooth on your phone (required for initial pairing). 4. Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi SSID and password. 5. Wait for the LED to show a solid green light (connection confirmed). If the LED blinks yellow, the password is incorrect or the network is 5 GHz only.
