If the Seagull Pro stops moving, check the filter basket and drive rollers first. The robot has an automatic escape mode for corners. Lift it out, rinse the rollers, and re-place it in the center of the pool.
Corner Escape Behavior
The Seagull Pro includes an automatic corner escape routine. When it detects it is stuck (motor load spike), it reverses and pivots to find a new direction. This process takes up to 30 seconds — wait before manually intervening. If the robot escapes and then gets stuck in the same spot repeatedly, there is likely an obstacle or a physical pool feature causing the issue.
Drive Roller Inspection
Inspect all drive rollers for: tangled hair, string, or debris wrapped around the axle; debris jammed between the roller and the chassis. Remove the robot from the pool and use a thin tool to clear any wrapped debris. Do not use sharp tools near the roller surface — scratches reduce grip.
Pool Drain Suction Warning
Never place the Seagull Pro over a pool drain with strong suction (main drain). The robot can be pulled down and held against an uncovered drain. Ensure all pool drains have compliant anti-entrapment covers (required by law in the US) before using any robotic cleaner.
Won’t Move at All After Power On
If the LED turns on but the robot does not move: (1) Check that the filter basket is properly installed and latched. (2) Place the robot in the pool — on dry land, the rollers may not spin without water resistance to calibrate against. (3) If no movement occurs after 60 seconds in the water, contact support.
